Web3 ? The evolution of the development of the Internet
What is Web 3.0

Web 3.0 is the third generation of web-based internet services.   We can use website hosting for host thr web 3.0. The concept of Web 3.0 was first introduced in 2001, when Tim Berners Lee, founder of the World Wide Web, wrote a scientific article describing Web 3.0 as a means for machines to read Web pages. This means that machines will have the same ability to read the Web as humans can today.

Web 3.0 relates to the concept of the semantic Web, which allows web content to be enjoyed not only in the user’s native language, but also in a format that can be accessed by software agents. Some experts even named Web 3.0 as the Semantic Web itself.

The uniqueness of Web 3.0 is the concept where humans can communicate with search engines. We can ask the Web to search for a specific data without bothering to search one by one in Web sites. Web 3.0 is also able to provide relevant information about the information we want to find, even without us asking.

Web 3.0 consists of :

  • Semantic Web
  • Micro format
  • Search in user’s language
  • Huge amount of data storage
  • Machine learning
  • Recommendation agency, which refers to the artificial intelligence of the Web

Web 3.0 offers an efficient method of helping computers organize and draw conclusions from online data. Web 3.0 also allows Web features to become a means of data storage with an extraordinary large capacity.

Although it is still not fully realized, Web 3.0 already has several operational standards to be able to carry out its function in accommodating metadata, such as the Resource Description Framework (RDF) and the Web Ontology Language (OWL). The Semantic Web metadata concept has also been implemented on Yahoo’s Food Site, Spivack’s Radar Networks, and a development platform, Jena, at Hewlett-Packard.

Web 3.0 Characteristics

There are several characteristics of Web3, namely :

  • Trustless
User interaction in Web3 will rely on computer algorithms without the need for third party intermediaries.
  • Permissionless
Interaction of users in Web3 contained in the network can join or leave the network without the need for prior approval by other parties in the network.
  • Self-Governance
This characteristic is manifested in a decentralized autonomous organization or DAO system, which is used by various applications and platforms. So that users can determine the policy direction of a different platform with the concept of centralization used in the previous generation of Web2.0
  • Ownership
Allows users to control personal data, in contrast to Web2 services which hold users’ personal data without any protection.
